Hi there! I’m Tara.

Thanks for stopping by!

If your curious about how I got to where I am today read along!

I was born in Riverside, California - an hour from the beach, an hour from the mountains, and an hour from Disneyland. A dream? Totally!

But fate had other plans. My mom, grandma, and I packed up our things and moved to Edison, NJ, to be closer to my auntie. My mom has always been a creator as well. In California, she started selling hand made items as a way to spend time with baby me and make that money! In Edison, I grew up with her sawing wood and painting in the basement. My grammy and I  followed her to craft shows at ungodly hours. I was an only child so mainly I was left to my own devices.

But it molded my imagination. I dreamed. I created. I experimented. I played. I made mistakes. I made collages out of garbage. I explored with my metal detector. Most importantly, I had so much fun. Back then, I wanted to be a paleontologist, then archeologist, then an oceanographer when I grew up. What always has stayed the same was curiosity.

Fast forward a few years after a handful of moves we were in Springfield, PA, where I attended high school and found another curious, creative outlet: photography. I ran around the neighborhood taking pictures of nature, my friends, myself. I found the beauty and pure magic of darkroom photography and have been actively trying to figure out a darkroom set-up for over a decade.

I followed this curiosity of image making into my college years. I attended Tyler in Philadelphia, and found a whole new place to explore. I forged through, even leaving my family and studying abroad in Rome. On top of that, going on my first solo trip to Nice, France to see Matisse’s collages. One of my dreams.

Since then I have made traveling a regular part of my years, making sure I open myself up to new places and new people. I currently live in the Fishtown neighborhood of Philadelphia, PA with my boyfriend Zack and our puppy, Betsy Ross. I have also enjoyed exploring our city and local area, finding little gems that we pass everyday.

Enjoy some of my recent and most favorite adventures featured on here :)
